This page explains how to request deletion of your WordSpring learner account and associated data. WordSpring is an English vocabulary learning app operated by Giggle Republic.
1. Delete your account in the WordSpring app
- Open the WordSpring app on your device.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
After confirmation, WordSpring deletes your learner account on our servers, clears local cached learner data on that device, and starts a fresh empty profile if you keep using the app.
2. Request deletion by email (if you cannot use the app)
If you uninstalled WordSpring or cannot open Profile, email us from the address you use for Play / developer contact and include:
- Subject line: WordSpring account deletion request
- Your display name in WordSpring (if you set one)
- Approximate device type (for example Android phone model) and when you last used the app
- Any other detail that helps us identify the install (optional)

We will process verified requests and confirm when deletion is complete. Because learner accounts are anonymous per install, we may ask reasonable follow-up questions to avoid deleting the wrong profile.
3. What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove or anonymise:
- Your learner profile (including optional display name)
- The install identifier linked to that account (so it can no longer be used)
- Session tokens for that account
- Associated learning progress, reviews, bookmarks, preferences, and similar learner records tied to the account, subject to the retention note below
- Local cached learner data on the device when deletion is completed in-app
4. What may be retained (and for how long)
- Security, abuse prevention, backups, and legal requirements — limited residual copies of related records may remain in backups or logs for up to 90 days, then are removed or further anonymised in the ordinary course of operations.
- Anonymised / aggregated statistics — may be kept without identifying you as an individual learner.
- Data we must keep by law — retained only as long as legally required.
5. After deletion
Deleted accounts cannot be restored. If you open WordSpring again on the same device, a new empty learner profile may be created automatically.
